So, basically, Shredder is Darth Vader, now, and Michael Bay still manages to be more evil that both of them. Shredder then drops the biggest bomb of all and perhaps the movie's biggest change in TMNT mythos: knowing that heroes are not born but rather created, Shredder actually worked with April's dad to create the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The voice-over continues, but there are also flashes of Shredder out of costume talking with April, and shots of the legendary ooze that will eventually transform the titular heroes.

April O'Neil (Megan Fox) is on the scene and we see her recording the action on her phone. In Bay's version of the story, the evil Shredder worked with April O'Neil's father to help create the turtles.ĭown in a subway we see flashes of action as criminals are getting their asses handed to them by the turtles, though they are moving too fast for us to get a good look at them. The folks over at CinemaBlend don't have the trailer, but they've got the next best thing: a written recap of the trailer.Īmong the revelations contained therein is the fact that the origin story for Raphael and company (I know, Leonardo is the defacto leader, but anyone who disputes that the fiery, sarcastic Raphael is the best turtle is probably high) has changed. The Shredder is the main antagonist in the original 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and its 1991 sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.He was once a rival of Homato Yoshi and a skilled ninja who then became the arch-enemy of Master Splinter and the title characters. Their first such effort came in the form of a trailer attached to the looming Captain American sequel about to hit theaters next month. Eventually, though, Bay and company are going to have to, you know, market the film to try to convince people to spend money to see it. Throughout the entire process, casting news, stills of the turtles, and other TMNT-related tidbits have been hard to come by.

The Internet's scrutiny of the project or his own smug, personal satisfaction has convinced Michael Bay that everything related to his forthcoming adaptation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles saga needs to be kept a secret leading up to the film's eventual release.
